Classic and New Materials of Mens Jewelry

Men's jewelry has fallen into the spotlight in recent years. Tiger Woods started wearing magnetic bracelets years ago, presumably to help with his golf game. Titanium, steel or sterling silver were these bracelets which were also in the cuff style. Well, I don't know if his game was strengthened by the bracelet, but it might have helped get the ball rolling on the trend of bracelet jewelry. Soon after that, these bracelets started to be worn by more and more professional golfers, and soon after that, more and more golf fans.

Years later, professional cyclist Lance Armstrong introduced and launched his Lance Armstrong Foundation with his now iconic yellow rubber "Live Strong" bracelet. Yeah, after the Tiger Woods magnetic bracelet and the Live Powerful bracelet, several years have passed. The jewelry makers, however, started to take note of the bracelet pattern and went to work quickly to create men's jewelry and, in some cases, entire men's collections. Hundreds of designers displayed their men's jewelry and collections at last year's JCK jewelry trade show in Las Vegas. Among the several designers, many trends appeared.

Sterling silver (think John Hardy Jewelry and David Yurman Jewelry and leather, platinum and white gold (think Damiani's D.Side collection accented with tiny diamonds) and even rubber (think Di Modolo's Falco for Men collection) were common materials. The rubber material may have been influenced by the Live Strong bracelet or by the material for mens sport watches now becoming common strap choices.

Bracelets were common products, possibly due to the early promoters of the men's jewelry movement and pendants on durable chains (think again of Damiani's D.Side collection). Although women's jewelry has become the subject of publicity, with the sole intention of improving their look with classy, attractive and not-too-blinged-out jewelry, men will finally find numerous luxury designers and luxury jewelry intended only for them.
